Babies...

So we end up at the doctor office yesterday for about an hour and a half. The wait was forever long and then it took us awhile in the room. In the waiting room the girls just read books and ate all of Jenna's skittles. We finally get called back and they take us to a room that we haven't been to before, so the girls aren't as nervous as other times. There is a window in the room, so the girls have a blast looking out at the falling snow and watching the cars in the parking lot. The nurse comes in and takes my blood and the girls just look at me and think of how glad they are that it is me in the chair and not them (although they will have to go get shots the beginning of February). Then the doctor comes in and looks at Hawley's ears and tells us that they are looking tons better (she had a really bad ear infection about 10 days ago). After we get all our questions answered, Jenna takes the girls back to her house to play.

Then the fun starts.

The wonderful exam for pregnant women. First, he gets out his cool little ultrasound machine, which is the size of a portable DVD player and we check out the baby and the little heart beat. When we see the baby, Dan and I both say "Are you sure there is only one?" The doctor looks around and sure enough, there is only one this time. After he cleans up my belly, he looks at Dan and says "I laugh when guys complain about their exams, when look what the women have to go through" and we all just laugh. When the whole thing is over, I go pee in a cup and we leave.

As we are leaving to go get the girls we are talking about having another little one around and we think of how different EVERYTHING is going to be. Things have changed since we had the girls: We got different insurance, we have a new doctor, which means we will have to go to a different hospital. We will now have to buy a new car. Then I think of how different/easy it will be with just the one baby: not as much formula, not as many bottles, not quite so many diapers, not as much laundry, etc... Then I think of how it is going to have two big sisters to help take care of it (help me now)!!

We are completely excited for this little new addition to our family, but we still have awhile to go--July 25th. I'm sure it will fly by fast and as it does things will become more real. Right now I just eat a ton and hope I don't throw up!

Congrats!!! July will come soon! Let me know when you find out if it's a boy or girl...do you have any feelings towards whether it's one or the other??

We aren't going to find out what the sex is. We weren't for the last one, but when we found out it was twins, there was no way that I wasn't going to know. All my family thinks that it is going to be a boy, but I don't know.
