Utah - Part 2

Friday we drove up to Utah County to visit our favorite family in Provo. But before we left, this crazy wanted something...

Isn't she cute. It was a HUGE ordeal. She was so excited all night and morning and then when we went in, she got scared and didn't want it done. When we sat her on the chair she freaked out and started crying and it took us 10 minutes to finally calm her down enough to get it done. After it was all over, she immediately stopped crying and was all happy. It wasn't really that bad after all.
The Skene's house was fun. The cousins were able to play for awhile and they were so excited. They don't get to see them very often and they enjoyed every minute. Even GiGi who doesn't like people was playing with her new friend. Loved it!

We met Aunt Sarah in Salt Lake for some dinner and dessert. The crazies miss her as well.

And finally we made our way to our destination--Hotel de McDougal. It has been forever since I have seen Sarah and I was so excited to catch up with her.

Although their poor dogs had to stay outside, because the crazies FREAKED out when they ran up to them. Go figure.
That night Ty and GiGi both received fevers, Ty fell off of the couch and hit her head on a table, and we didn't get much sleep. Fun stuff right there!
More to follow.

Utah - Part 1

We were able to go to Delta for a week. So glad to get out of the heat and be able to let the girls play outside for more than 5 minutes. We left on Tuesday in the afternoon and made it there in time for dinner. A bonus: Grandma Rita was there. I haven't seen her for 5 years. I had told the crazies that she was going to be there (twins last saw her when they were 2 1/2 and Ty was 2 months) and so when we got there, they ran right to her and gave her a big hug and kiss. Loved it! The only thing that I am really upset about, is that I forgot to take pictures of all of us with her. Huge bummer.

Wednesday
The crazies had fun playing and dressing up in togas.

Thursday
Gemma turned 2 years old. I can't believe how big she is getting. Love that little crazy! I decorated the night before and when she woke up she was so excited. We played all morning...

and then we had a little party.

Here are the people with July birthdays.

Such a fun first couple of days. More to come tomorrow.

We Love Twins

Our friend let us watch her cute twins today.
I love watching those girls.
They are so cute and sweet.
And the crazies adore them.

GiGi got a little bit upset when one of them tried to read one of her books.

I guess we need to learn how to share better.

Our 4th

Since last year we did nothing (see here), we made sure that we made today a terrific one.
We went to the parade and died of the heat. Oh my was it hot. Like over 100 degrees at 9am hot. Blah.

Hugh was so nice and walked around fanning everyone.

My little miss GiGi was so red and sweaty. Poor thing.

Even though it was scorching, the crazies had so much fun.
Afterwards we went to the Ropers for some lunch. Yummy! This is the only picture I got.

We were invited over to a neighbors home for a potluck dinner and swimming. Ty had got into trouble right before and so she wasn't able to go swimming. But she did get to sit on the edge and put her feet in for awhile.

When we finally made it home we got out the fireworks, put a blanket on the grass, and got all ready. Then the neighbors lit their big and loud fireworks and it was all over. Ty and GiGi both started howling and we had to take them inside. They wouldn't stop either. So we took all of our stuff inside and the twins and Dan went into the backyard to light off some fun ones and do some sparklers. Annie was pretty funny when a firework would explode she would say "Kaboom" super loud.

So happy for my family and the fun that we have. So glad that I live in the country where I have (for the moment) the freedom to do whatever I want.
Happy 4th of July!

Reading

I am so lucky that my girls love to read. It makes me so happy.
I found these two reading book after book. Annie is such an awesome big sister.

Then the next time I looked in the room, Jo Jo had joined in.

And then little Ty wanted in on the fun.

Love it!!
