Independence Day

I love the 4th of July! It makes me happy that we can celebrate our nation and the freedoms that we have.

I especially love that I get to spend it with my family.

This year we were missing two important little girls, but we managed.

The girls were having their own fun.

Our day consisted of Einstein Bagel, a parade, stickers, hanging out at Dan's sisters house, playing games, eating, and finally fireworks. It was a lovely day and ended really late.

It wasn't as scorching as last year, but it was still hot. We got prepared by finally buying us some misters and a shade thing.

The only thing that would have made it better would have been to have our girls with us.

Our 4th

Since last year we did nothing (see here), we made sure that we made today a terrific one.

We went to the parade and died of the heat. Oh my was it hot. Like over 100 degrees at 9am hot. Blah.

Hugh was so nice and walked around fanning everyone.

My little miss GiGi was so red and sweaty. Poor thing.

Even though it was scorching, the crazies had so much fun.

Afterwards we went to the Ropers for some lunch. Yummy! This is the only picture I got.

We were invited over to a neighbors home for a potluck dinner and swimming. Ty had got into trouble right before and so she wasn't able to go swimming. But she did get to sit on the edge and put her feet in for awhile.

When we finally made it home we got out the fireworks, put a blanket on the grass, and got all ready. Then the neighbors lit their big and loud fireworks and it was all over. Ty and GiGi both started howling and we had to take them inside. They wouldn't stop either. So we took all of our stuff inside and the twins and Dan went into the backyard to light off some fun ones and do some sparklers. Annie was pretty funny when a firework would explode she would say "Kaboom" super loud.

So happy for my family and the fun that we have. So glad that I live in the country where I have (for the moment) the freedom to do whatever I want.

4th of July

Our 4th was not too eventful. We decided to break tradition and not go to the parade this year. We figured that it would be hot and GiGi would not like missing her all too important nap. So we skipped that and instead went to a fun and relaxed breakfast get together. While there Jo Jo was in heaven.

The rest of the day we did nothing. We tried out some homemade ice cream that didn't really turn out.

GiGi cried a lot.

Then it turned into night time and we lit fireworks. The crazies were all scared and went into the house after the first couple. What brave girls I have!

It was a little different to pretty much do nothing on the fourth, but it was still a great day.

And it is all because of people who have and do protect our country that we get to do whatever we want!

So grateful.

4th of July

We were all really excited for our day full of festivities.
We started the day by meeting the Ropers and going to the Summerlin Parade. It was a little bit humid, but it was overcast which was nice. The parade was fun and the favorites were:
The Princesses,



a random bunny,


and The Wizard of Oz


The parade was fun and the crazies loved it.


After the parade we went to the Ropers for lunch and hang out time. It has been forever since we have seen them even though they are only 25 minutes away.
We then had a pool/dinner party with some friends. It was so much fun.



We had some good fireworks and the crazies loved them.


Not really! Ty was hating the loud booms and was hiding her face.



I'm so grateful that we have the opportunity to celebrate our nation. I am extremely grateful for those soldiers who have done their part to help us keep the freedoms that we enjoy!!!

4th of July Festivities--Sunday

Today is the 4th and I'm so proud to be an American. I have been so blessed to live in a nation that is free and have all the privileges that I have. It is sad to see the way the country is moving, but on the other hand, it is extremely touching and humbling to see those who will do everything to protect it.

Today our activities included church and being with family. Yes the crazies wore the same skirt. Dan had to work tonight and so Dave and Brandy invited the girls and I over for dinner and fireworks. We ate some yummy pizza, looked at some pics,


played with the baby,


and then Dave was so excited to do fireworks he had the girls do a few sparklers before it got dark. This is the only time Annie held one.



We finally went back inside and watched a little bit of a movie until it was dark and then went back out again. The neighbors were doing some fireworks that made a lot of noise and Ty cried every time one was lit. She did not like them.



She did like the Sparklers though.


Jo Jo even started to do two at a time. They were always lit because Annie said she wanted to do it and then backed out once it was lit.


Annie and Jo Jo then had fun with the camera and took many pictures. Most were deleted.



Dave had a couple of fireworks that may or may not have been ones that weren't suppose to be lit in Nevada. He lit one and right then we had a visitor stop by.


AWESOME!!!!
The neighborhood behind their home always does a huge firework show and so we waited for them to start. They were late starting, but when they finally got going it was pretty impressive. It was also cool to look off the balcony at the whole valley and see all the fireworks going off in the distance. I forgot to take pictures, but I'm not so sure they would have turned out anyways since my camera is completely dumb.
It was a fun night though and I'm grateful for everything.
I did miss Delta and my family though. Maybe next year!
