5 Years and Going Strong

Yesterday was mine and Dan's 5 year anniversary. It really is pretty crazy that it has been five years. We have had some fun times. It was my turn to plan it this year and so I decided to have a campout in our backyard. I started on Sunday and gave Dan little notes every day with little gifts. Then on our anniversary I gave him one last note and the last of his gifts. I thought that my plan would be ruined because of the rain, but I was feeling adventerous and so during a break in the rain we hurried and set up the tent. We took a drive up the mountains and then went out to eat. Afterwards, the rain had stopped and so we started our fire and cooked up some smores. After we ate our smores, it started to rain a little bit, so we got into the tent and started the movie that we rented. It got a little bit chilly, but overall it wasn't too bad. Jenna and Dustin took our crazies for the night--thank you guys. It was so nice to have a fun and exciting night alone.





Dan, you are an amazing man and I am so lucky and blessed to have you in my life. You are so fun and I'm glad that you are always up for the little adventures that I have us do. I love you so incredibly much!

Hiking Buckskin Gulch

This month has already been pretty busy and crazy and it isn't even half over. It isn't going to slow down anytime soon either.
Last weekend we dropped the kids off at Shai and Cade's house and headed down to Kanab. Mom, Dad, Jenna, Dustin, Dan, and I had a plan to try and hike 21 miles in 9 1/2 hours. We failed! We started out with strong legs and bodies, and 15 miles and 9 hours later we were hurting and praying for the end. When we finally made the 21 miles in 13 hours, we were more than ecstatic to see the car. What joy it brought me to see that beautiful car! My knee was hurting so bad I didn't know if I was going to be able to finish it, but you know what? I made it! Of course, I had no other choice. Here are some pictures of our daring journey.











We didn't get home until 2:30 in the morning, which really sucked. But it was such a blessing to actually get home and have a bed to sleep in.
I really did have fun before my knee decided to make my life miserable.

Flowers

After 3 years of living in this house, I finally did a flower garden. I have wanted to do one since we moved in, but just never got around to it. Well I finally did it and I love it. It makes our entrance so much nicer. I also planted a strawberry plant--we'll see how that one goes!!!

I was going to do a veggie garden, but I don't feel like spending a lot of time doing that, when I'm not sure how much longer we will be in this house. Flowers are as much as I wanted to do at this point. We also have been pulling a ton of weeds and it looks so much better. I actually should go pull more today, since we got some rain yesterday.

Chores

Besides putting the toys away that they play with, the twins have one chore. That is putting the silverware away. They actually love doing it and sometimes when Zoey is here, I have fighting going on.

Fun Times

We had a good weekend past and I'm so blessed to have the family that I have. We all had such a fun time being with each other. I was sad to wake up this morning and send Dan off to work.

Wednesday and Thursday Dan was in California, so when Friday rolled around, we were glad to have him home and only go to work for a few hours. We went to Rock Canyon park and had a fun time there. Actually, Scarlett and Tyda slept for a long time and so Hawley had all the fun. They eventually woke up and when they did, they had a lot of fun.

Saturday, Jenna and Dan ran a 5K and the crazies and I went to see them run. Jenna ended up getting 3rd place in her age group--Congrats Jenna!!!




Sunday was a normal relaxing day and then we went to the Skene's for desert. Grant was in love with my baby and was so fun with her. He didn't want her to go at the end of the night. He read her a book and she hit him with a stick. We played games and had good brownies.



Monday we were going to go to the zoo, but thought that it would be too crazy, so we went to the Living Planet Aquarium instead. It was a lot of fun. The crazies loved it and hated it. They didn't like the sting rays or the octopus. They cried so much when we tried to get them to touch the sting rays. It was pretty funny.






We had a wonderful weekend and I'm so glad that we were able to do some fun things as a family. Nothing beats family, especially mine!!!

New Names for Body Parts

Dan took our oldest to the potty the day we were up in the mountains. After she went, he decided that he should go before we started our hike (this was like the first time he peed in front of her.) He starts to go and the little crazy thing says, "You don't use your thumb to go potty like that dad!"

Irene, why didn't you inform him of this before he had to learn it from a three year old?

Also, I don't know if you remember this one, but they still call them the same thing.

Stewart Falls

Saturday was such a nice day. We invited Jenna and Zoey and headed on up the canyon. We had a little picnic before we started the hike


The girls did awesome on a 4 mile hike. It was a fun time and I'm glad that we were able to go. I now know that I need to hike more often, I'm kinda out of shape. Hopefully I can get into shape before we do a 19 mile hike in a couple of weeks. Oh help me!!! :)

Nap Time?

Zoey yelled at me yesterday. Because she did this, she got sent to time out. After a little while I asked her to come to me so that we could talk, but she never came. Finally I went over to her and this is what the little crazy girl was doing....


She slept like this until she almost fell off, which was about 10-15 minutes.
