Today was very emotional for me. I always hear how sad the first day of Kindergarten is, but I am telling you that that was so not the case with me. Sure I was a little sad the first day, but I was more excited for them and for the break I was going to get even if I was driving a lot.
What I wasn't prepared for was today. The last day of Kindergarten. It really hit me after I dropped them off and was on my way home. They are no longer my little girls. They will be going to first grade next year--big kid school, full day school. I actually cried a little bit. This year has gone by so fast and I am so pleased with how they have excelled (they are now at a 2nd grade reading level).
Anyways, today they had a little graduation picnic. When we got there, the kids were all lined up ready to perform. The girls were so excited that Nana and Papa were here so they could go.
They sang us a few songs they learned and then Mrs. Erickson said a few things and we ate lunch.
Here are the girls with their favorite teacher, Mrs. Erickson.
She was an amazing teacher and I am very grateful the girls were able to be in her class.
Here is their teachers aid, Mrs. Godkin.
A few of their friends.
This year was a fantastic one and I'm hoping next year doesn't disappoint.
To celebrate, we went to Springs Preserve and saw the new exhibit of 'Envenomators'.
Good job with all your hard work twinners. You rocked Kindergarten!
