YEAH!!!!

I just had to post one more thing before the year ended. Tyda has made the end of our year awesome. She has rolled over by herself for the first time today. What a big girl we have! Love you Tyda girl!

Hoorah for 2009! Can you believe that 2008 has already come and gone? The twins turned 2 in the winter. Dan graduated and turned 29 in the spring. Tyda was born in the summer and blessed in the fall. I sewed my very first halloween costume (with the help of my mother-in-law) in the fall and I turned 29 in the winter. How fast this year has gone.

I didn't really make any goals this past year or in the past few years to be honest. I know that I should always have some sort of goal, but I was a slacker. What me? I would never slack! :) Well, because of my lack of ambition, I have decided to write here for all to see, my goals for the coming year. They may not be magnificent goals, but they will be some that I am able to meet.

1. Be nicer.
2. Workout at least 3 times a week.
3. Go back to school.
4. Start a decent food storage.
5. Be more patient.
6. Go snowboarding.
7. Go to St. George to visit my Grammy.
8. Camp and hike more.
9. Go to the Temple more.
10. Watch my sister and her family seal the deal for Eternity!

I hope that you all have had a wonderful 2008 and that you make 2009 a year of complete joy!!

Christmas

What a calm and relaxing Christmas it was this year! The girls were so excited for Santa to come and give them toys and candy, but when Christmas morning came around they wouldn't go upstairs unless Dan was holding them, because they thought that Santa was still there. After we got them calmed down and showed them that Santa was not at the house and he left them some toys and treats, they were way excited to eat my dad's WONDERFUL waffles and open gifts. We got a lot of wonderful gifts and we thank everyone who gave them to us. They are all very much appreciated.

The girls are in heaven. They recieved a few princess dresses this year.

Dan and I decided that we were going to buy the Wii and we wouldn't get each other anything else. It has been a good present. Everyone has had fun playing with it. Here is a clip of Dad and Jenna boxing. As you can tell it gets pretty crazy especially with Jenna playing!

The day after Christmas, we hooked a tube up to the 4-wheeler and had all the little kids ride in it on the lawn. They had a blast. Then when they were done, the older people went out to the field and went crazy. I got pretty beat up and fell off the tube the most. It has been a long long time since I have done anything in the snow. I had a lot of fun.

The girls wanted to go outside to play on Saturday, so Dan took them out and they ended up on the trampoline. They were really funny because there was ice on part of it, so they kept falling.

Whitney and her family weren't able to make it down, so we missed them. And Ali is in Spain, so after 10 years we weren't able to see her, but I'm so glad that she was able to spend it with her family. Missed all of you and hope that you had the best Christmas possible!

Winter Snow

I can't believe how much snow we have gotten just today. Dan went out to shovel around noon and then I just went out and shoveled again around 3:30 (so I could leave to go to work). It had pretty much stopped when I went out to shovel, but when I finished it was snowing pretty hard again. I'm sure we will be back out again to do it all over again. Which I really can't complain that much, because I love the snow. Plus, I can get a good workout doing so. The only thing that I don't really care about is how crappy it is to drive in. Well here is a couple pictures of me standing in our yard. I have some of Dan's boots on, and it is pretty much covering them.

Triplets

When the girls woke up this morning and came out into the front room, they found Zoey sitting on the couch in her "Apple Dress" (that is what the kids all call these dresses, because there is a little apple on them). After the girls ate their breakfast, they HAD to wear their "apple dresses". They are a touch small, but at least the twins' fit a lot better than Zoey's. You can pretty much see Zoey's bum when she is walking around. (They are size 24 month.) These are one of their favorite dresses, so they like to wear them as often as I'll let them.

Snow snow and more snow

The other day we had the girls go outside to play for a bit. It was really the first time this year that we have gone out to play. The girls love it so much and are always wanting to go out. Today I just bought them some snow pants (finally), so when we do go out, they won't get all wet. This storm that is upon us is quite the storm. It is crazy how much snow we are getting and will be getting the next few days. It has been such nice weather, so I guess it was bound to catch up to us. I don't think we will be going very many places until it gets a little bit better!

1. What is your favorite Christmas song?
I like them all, but I really love "Where are you Christmas".

2. When was your most memorable Christmas?
I don't think that I have one that is better than the rest. They have all been great.

It used to be mint M&M's and now I don't really have one.

7. If you could receive one gift without money being an issue, what would it be? A new furnished house!

8. What is your idea of a perfect Christmas Eve?
(All the Christmas Eve's growing up were perfect) Opening the Christmas Eve PJ's while waiting for Santa to show up. Once Santa gets there and we've told him what we wanted, we get into our PJ's and read the bible story. Everyone piles into one room to excited to sleep, but eventually sleep evades us.

9. Which do you like best, eggnog or hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate

10. Do you prefer a fancy Christmas tree, or one decorated by the kids?
I like the ones decorated by the kids.

11. What is your favorite family Christmas tradition?
We haven't done it for a few years, but we would go help fill the bags for Santa and then we would go sledding.

12. Do you like fruitcake?
No way!

13. Do you prefer skiing or snowboarding?
I have only been once for both, but I did like snowboarding better. I am hoping I get to go this year.

14. Are you dreaming of a white christmas or do you say “Bah Humbug” to snow?
A white Christmas.

15. What was your favorite gift from Santa when you were a kid?
I can't remember back very far, but I can remember when Shai and I got our day beds. That was fun.

"Miracle of 34th Street"

17. Have you ever eaten snow?
Yes. And I don't think I will ever be too old to do so.

18. Who do you wish could be with you this Christmas?

19. When do you put up your Christmas lights and decorations?
Usually after Thanksgiving, but this year my tree was up before. I think because it was so warm and not feeling at all like winter/Christmas, I wanted to feeling in our home.

20. Real or artificial Christmas Tree?
Artificial, but I do love the smell of real. We try to switch everyother year.

Hawley...

Dan was trying to take a nap yesterday and Hawley kept crawling all over him. He was getting frustrated and telling her to get off of him and she started to lick his chin. He kept telling her to stop and she just said that she was licking his hair (his goatee). He whispered for her to come over and lick me. She slowly made her way to me and tried to lick me. I kept pushing her away and I said "I don't have any hair, go lick your Dad." She just looked at me and said "I need to lick your polka-dots." She knows that they are called freckles, but she has just recently started calling them polka-dots. Cute Cute.

Conversation with Scarlett

I was getting the girls a granola bar this afternoon and I was telling them that they had to give me a kiss and tell me they loved me first. Hawley did it and ran away after I gave it to her. As Scarlett was waiting for me to open hers, I said "I love you."
"I love you."
"I love you more."
"No, I love you more."
"I love you so much."
"I love you so much."
"You are super cute!"
"I know. I am super cute."
I just laughed and told her it was true and let her run away with her granola bar. Somedays are just crazy and I don't think that I can make it through another 5 minutes and then they say little things or do something that makes being a mom worth it all!

Little Tidbits

While we were at Jenna's yesterday, the girls were all in Zoey's room cleaning up so we could go home. Well Dan went in to see if they were almost done and this is what he found...

It is a bead up Scarlett's nose. I guess it is true "Like Mother Like Daughter". I put a bean up my nose when I was little.

I totally forgot about this day. We had gone over to help Ali pack up her things and the girls started to play on the treadmill. It was so hilarious! While we were watching this video, the girls kept saying that they wanted to go to Ali's to "play with it". Ali we miss you and hope that you are having fun in good old Spain.
