Halloween

Halloween is getting funner every year. The girls had a blast and it was so fun to watch them enjoy everything. This year the girls were a tin girl (Scarlett), a scarecrow (Hawley) and a lion (Tyda). I couldn't find any cute tin girl costume and so I made it (Thanks for your help Irene. I couldn't have done it without you.) I was very pleased with it, since it is the only thing that I have ever made.





We got ready for the day and went to Security National where the girls met Snow White and Mulan. They were so excited. They kept going up to her and asking if she was really Snow White. Then we went over to Unicity to trick-or-treat and see Dan's cool area that they decorated. They had a competition for costumes and decorations and he won both. Rock on Baby!! The girls also got to meet Cinderella at Unicity and they were pretty excited about that.

After all that we came home and ate and then went back out to trick-or-treat around our neighborhood. It was a nice night, so there were tons of kids out and about. The girls had a blast and got tons of candy. Our neighbors are awesome and get into Halloween. I really enjoyed walking around and watching the girls and visiting with people. It was a good day!

Quick Updates

It is a little later than I thought it would be putting this up, but better late than never.
Thursday we had a girls day. It was a lot of fun with shopping, eating and enjoying each others company. Everyone was there which is awesome. Out of all the kids, Isaac had the hardest time, because he still is taking 3 hour naps and didn't get anything. He still is a cutie though.




Friday we bought our pumpkins and had a fun family carving party. The girls had a lot of fun and didn't even mind taking the guts out. Scarlett was a little bit hesitant at first, but she ended up doing it. They turned out pretty good I thought.







Saturday we went to Delta for our annual pumpkin party. We had a lot of fun and the winners were: 1st place--Shai, Me, and Dan. 2nd place--Cade. Next year will be even better cause we are going to be doing an even bigger party with games and prizes and stuff. Exciting! Dan already has his pumpkin pattern for next year picked out. It will win of course--it is pretty cool.

Tuesday we had our wards Halloween party. I had to work, so we ended up getting there right at the end of the trunk-or-treat. The girls had fun dressing up and getting candy. I wasn't able to take any pictures, but we went and had our pictures taken last Wednesday and the girls were in their costumes, so I will post those when I get them.

No more PLEASE!!!!

For those of you who don't know, I have started watching Zoey again. Most days are delightful, but there are some days (even if Zoey wasn't here) that I want to pull my hair out and swear non stop. This morning was more on the pull my hair out side. It was about 9am and we were watching cartoons and the girls were eating breakfast. Zoey was A LOT calmer than usual just laying on the couch (which isn't a good thing in her case). I didn't think anything of it and just enjoyed the calmness. Well I looked over at her as she was turning or doing something and saw something on her arm. I asked her what she had and she hurried and put her arm down and didn't say anything. But with the look on her face I knew that something was up. I went over to her and grabbed her arm and she kinda started to cry because she had taken the gum that she was chewing and decided to stick it all over her body. She was fully dressed but she managed to get it on her neck and chin, her belly, her hand and some fingers and in the crevice of her arm. The crevice was the worst because she had put the most gum there and then closed her arm which then made it stick together and because she was sitting like that for so long it stuck so much that it hurt her to try to open it. It did get on her shirt, so I am in the process of getting that out. I have heard of many ways to get gum out of fabrics, but never skin. So I started to try different things. These are the things that don't work well: Oily lotion, peanut butter, and toothpaste (Aloe Vera was next on the list). I was just going through my house trying anything to get it off. The thing that removes gum for skin is: rubbing alcohol. It worked wonderfully. (Although Zoey didn't like it much.) So to anyone who watches Zoey--NO MORE GUM! Especially at my house!

I am actually thinking about starting a different blog with ways to remove things from other things. :) Between the twins and Zoey I'm sure I will learn many more things!

Oh and about 1/2 hour before this, I found her sneaking around the house with a big booger on her finger. Gross!

My Beautiful Sister

You know how you have friends or family that live so close, but you don't get around to visiting them as much as you would like to? You don't really need to make plans to go visit because they live in the same town and you can visit them whenever? And then one day things change so much that that person is going to move and then you realize that you should have gone to visit more often or gone out to get icecream or just stopped by to say a quick hello. Well that has happened to our family. Ryan and Ali have gotten a divorce and yesterday Ali moved to Arizona. I am so sad that she had to move. I know it was the best thing for her to do and that things will work out, but I am so sad that I am not going to be able to see her whenever I want to.


She has been such a great sister-in-law and I have been blessed to have her in my life. She is just as crazy if not more than our family--and those of you who know my family know how crazy we are. :) I will always remember the very first time I met her. They had been married for a couple of months and we were in the airport to pick them up (She is from Spain and that is where they were married). When they got off the plane I was so excited to see Ryan and meet her, I started to walk towards them and Ali gave me a big hug and said "It's good to meet you Tiffany." I was so shocked (I don't know why) that she knew my name and everyone elses for that matter. They lived with us for a couple of months before they found a place and moved to Provo. It has been 11 years (in November) since then with a lot of fun times and some really sad times and the chance to get to know each other well and get to become close like sisters. Girls day won't be the same without her and family get togethers will always be one person short.

Ali, I just want you to know how much I love you and how much I will miss you. We will see each other again. Just remember to have fun down there, meet new people, experience all that Pheonix has to offer and be good! You will forever be apart of our family and nothing will ever change that no matter what anyone says--we have it on paper!!! I love you and miss you already.

Dan the Chef

Dan is the Chef of the family. He cooks dinner most nights because I am working, and I'm so thankful he does because he cooks some real tasty dinners. Tonight we tried a new recipe called Pineapple Beef Stir Fry. It was so tasty I thought I would share it with you all.


1 lb flank or sirloin steak, cut into strips
1/2 cup A.1. Steak Sauce, original or sweet & tangy
1 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 can(20 oz.) Pineapple Chunks, drained, reserving 1/3 cup juice
1 cup sliced red bell pepper
1/2 cup sliced green onion

Combine beef, sauce and cornstarch until well blended. Heat oil in large skillet placed over medium-high heat; add beef strips. Cook and stir for 3-4 minutes or until no longer pink. Add pineapple chunks, bell pepper, onion and reserved pineapple juice; heat to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 2-3 minutes or unitl sauce thickens slightly. Serve over cooked rice. If desired, top with soy sauce.

3 Months Old

These past 3 months have flown by. Tyda is getting so big and starting to actually do stuff. She laughed for Dan for the first time last week. She is talking (cooing) and smiling and enjoying her sisters. She started sleeping through the night (9 hours) a couple of weeks ago--HALLELUJAH! She is such a joy and I'm so in love! She is so cute and we are so blessed to have her.

Hawley's New Hair Cut and Permanent Marker

Every morning the girls get into bed with me and wait until I wake up. Today was not any different except when I woke up I leaned over to get my glasses and I saw something that looked like string or hair or something on the floor. So I just looked at it trying to figure out what it was and why it was on my floor and then I looked at Hawley and saw what I have always dreaded--Hawley had cut her hair. I just looked at her and said "Oh. My. Gosh." She looked at me and with such excitement said "I cut my hair!" I couldn't believe it. I just kept saying 'Oh my gosh' while I went into the front room and there on the couch was all of her hair. I even started to cry a little. I was in shock and I knew that to try to fix it it would be completely short--all gone. I still can't believe that her beautiful hair is all gone. I guess one thing about it is now people will be able to tell them apart. The lucky thing about hair is that it grows back, although Hawley's hair is the slowest growing hair IN THE WORLD!! Well as I was cleaning up the hair (which isn't the easiest thing when it is everywhere) I called Jenna and we volunteered Joy to come and try to fix it. I can trim and do a few other things with hair, but there was no way that I was going to try to fix this myself. You can still see a little where she cut some cause it was so short, but Joy did a good job and I'm glad that she took a little bit of her Friday night to come and help out. Thanks Joy your the best!

If you thought that that was all that I had to write you must have been thinking of someone else, because I swear I have my work cut out for me. After all of the hair and stuff I decided to take a shower and left the girls watching cartoons. When I was dressed I decided to check on them and they were no where in sight. I went to the kitchen and there they were on the counter eating tootsie rolls and drawing all over the counter, microwave, and the cute letter holder Ali gave to me with PERMANENT BLACK MARKER. Luckily they didn't get it all over themselves. I tried to get it off with the magic eraser, but to no avail.


I'm not sure if I can handle anything else today. Lets just pray that that is the extent of the excitement for today.

Enchanted and Sleeping Beauty

So the girls' new favorite movies are Enchanted and Sleeping Beauty. We have to watch at least one of them every day. They like Enchanted better and love the song that she sings in the park 'How Does She Know'. They will sing that all day long. I do enjoy Enchanted better as well, so that is a plus.

New Found Love

The girls have discovered hot chocolate! They love it. I'm a big fan of it as well, so it will be a good winter with LOTS of yummy hot chocolate.

On a side note, can you believe that we have already had snow!!!! Insane.
