Time Out, Naps, and Growing Up

Hawley got into trouble the other day and so I put her in time out, but she wouldn't sit there, so I put her in her room. She was crying and screaming and then all was quiet. This is what I found when I went to talk to her


The girls still love to be with their Daddy. Naps are quickly going out of style with the twins. They rarely nap anymore, so when they do fall asleep I don't care when or where or how long. Just let them sleep!

Conversation with 2 year olds

I just thought that I would share a cute conversation that I had with Scarlett yesterday. They are so funny with things that they say--I wish that I would get on the ball and write everything down. I have some things written down, but not everything.

When we were getting ready for church the song 'I am a Child of God' came on, so we started singing it and then I asked the girls if they wanted to go live with Jesus and Hawley gets a little excited and says 'Yes'. Then I ask Scarlett the same question and she just looks at me and says "No."
"Why?"
"Because I want to live with Mamma!"
"Well I'm going to live with him someday."
"I live with my Mamma."
"What if I go to heaven to live with him?"
"I go with my Mom."

Washington and Sick Kids

Monday the 15th, Mom, Shai, Morgan, Oakley, Scarlett, Hawley, Tyda, and myself all got into my car and took off on a 10 hour road trip for a week long stay with my Grandma. All the kids were really good on the drive which made it that much better.

When we got there the kids just played around and had fun exploring the new house. Things went well until Wednesday when Scarlett got sick. She had a high temp until Saturday. Hawley ended up getting sick on Thursday until Sunday. They wouldn't let anyone talk, touch, or help in anyway, so I was stuck with two sick kids and trying to take care of my baby Tyda. I'm very grateful for my family who helped take care of her. They would bring her to me when she needed to eat and then take her away. This is us in bed. Hawley has a grip on my arm, she didn't want me to go anywhere.



Since the kids were sick, we didn't do anything, which made the trip pretty boring. We just sat around all day everyday. Finally on Friday night we went to Uncle Steve's house and had dinner with them and some cousins. Oakley was so excited for people to play with. She was extremely bored with noone to play with and nothing to do all week.

Saturday a few people came over, but it was mostly just relaxed. Sunday there was a Murphey reunion that we went to. The girls were almost better and running all over the place having fun. They even made a few friends.

We left on Monday to come home and the trip was again a good one. We were all worried about the girls and how they would do, but they did well.

And now that it is over and things are getting back to normal, I get pretty sick. I have a bad cold and a fever. Things are pretty dang crappy when you are sick.

The Mountains

Sunday after church we decided that we were going to go up in the mountains to hike around a bit. On the drive up, Scarlett kept saying 'Go Mountain' and she kept saying it when she wanted to hike more. We didn't go far, just to Sundance, but they had fun hiking around and getting scared of all the squirrels. We are going to try to go back this next weekend to hike up Stewart Falls. Hopefully the weather is good.

Getting Big

Here is a picture of our little princesses. They are so fun and I love them all so much. They have such incredible personalities and make us laugh ALL the time. I can't believe how big they are all getting. It looks like Tyda is a little bit scared to be in between Hawley and Scarlett--she might be, they can get a little bit overwhelming. But they are good big sisters and help me out a lot!

Flying

Isn't it funny how almost all kids pretend that they can fly at one point or another!? They run around flying or they jump off of roofs trying or they jump through glass windows to get outside instead of using doors (Sorry Dad I had to put that in there. Whenever I think of towels or blankets as capes I always think of you!). Pretending is something that we somewhat grow out of us as we get older and it is nice to have little kids around to bring that back and make us little again, even if it is for a split second.

A Fun Trip to Delta

We went to Delta to go to the Rez for maybe the last time this year. We might be able to get in one more trip, but we will have to see how things go with the weather and such. We took my Dad's BBQ down and had BBQ'd meat, watermelon, and chips for lunch and just played all day long. Here are some pics of our fun day!








Cade has a this round tube that you lay in. I haven't tried it yet, but everyone thinks it is pretty fun as long as Dad isn't driving! :) Here is a video of Ryan in it. It can get pretty crazy in there--Dan tried to give himself a black eye one time when he was trying it out.

Cuteness

S & H were so cute today that I thought that I would post some pics of them. I used my straight iron and straightened their hair and the dresses are from my friend Sarah.

Tyda

I thought that I would put up some pictures of our little baby. She is changing so much and fast. It is so crazy that it has been 4 weeks now. Things are wonderful with her. She is a good baby and we love her so much!
