We celebrated two birthdays today.
Annie
and
Jo Jo
They turned 6 years old today. I can't believe it.
Our morning began with everyone getting ready for school. We then came downstairs to find the first present of the day.
Ty was so excited that she was getting a present as well.
The girls then went to school and were so excited for the end of class when I would bring in treats. While they were at school I started making their cake. They weren't as vibrant colors as I wanted, but it worked.
After school, we did some homework.
We put some shaving cream on the counter and they wrote their popcorn words (words they are learning or know) in the cream. They thought that was the funnest homework.
We spent the afternoon relaxing.
When it was time for dinner, we got what the girls wanted-- Pizza.
After dinner, we opened presents.
The girls wanted a rainbow cake and so I was going to make them such a fun cake, but the frosting did NOT turn out and made the cake look absolutely disgusting. As you can see, it was incredibly runny. I tried to thicken it, but it didn't work. I told the girls I would make up for it next year. It still tasted fine. But I found a much better frosting and will be using that from now on.
They had a good birthday even if they didn't get one of the presents that they asked for--- an iPad. Gotta love those girls!
Happy Birthday!
Love you Jo Jo!!!
Love you Annie!!!

soo cute. I think the inside of the cake turned out awesome. The colors are perfect. Good luck on that frosting. I'm horrible at decorating cakes too. It always looks easier than it really is.
