Since our Anniversary is on a Wednesday this year, we did our thing this weekend. It was Dan's year to plan everything, but since I am pretty pregnant, we didn't want to go anywhere big or far away. Dan got us a room at the Anniversary Inn (which I found out about, because I do the bills and saw it on the statement), but I didn't know the room we were going to stay in, so there still was a little bit of a surprise. We stayed there on our 1st anniversary, so it was nice to go back and experience another room.
We left later than we were going to because I was having a rough day with the kids and hadn't showered by the time Dan got home. I also had a little bit of a melt down when he did get home, so I took an extra long shower to relax and calm down. Jenna, Dustin, and Zoey spent the night at our place so they could watch the girls for us. We are very grateful for their help. Thanks you guys, you are awesome!
We are going out to eat on our actual anniversary, so we just did Hogi Yogi for dinner before we headed up to SLC. The room that we stayed in was the Italian Gondola room and it was pretty cool. Dan had them put rose petals on the floor and set out a spa package kit with oils, bath salts, etc... We ate our cheesecake and drank a little sparkling cider while sitting in a gondola. It was very romantic and nice to be with just each other, not worrying about kids.
They brought us breakfast around 9am, which we should have asked for it earlier, because I was starving by that time. We had a ham and cheese melt thing, a cinnamon roll (that was yummy), a parfait, and drinks. When we finished that, we just relaxed for a bit and then got ready for the day and came home.
Thank you Dan for such a special night and for cheering me up when my day wasn't so good. You are such an amazing husband and I'm so lucky to be blessed with you in my life. (Thanks for picking me and not Aubrey. :) )I hope that you had just as good a time as I did! I love you more now than I did when we got married and I'm sure it will just keep growing.
