Couches

Because Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away I am going to say how grateful I am for something nice and comfy to sit on.
We had stake conference last Sunday and we had to sit on those hard chairs and boy was my butt in pain after two hours.
We bought a couch about 4 years ago.
I love that couch, it has been with us through so much.
Here is a picture of said couch.


Well the sad thing is that that couch didn't fit into our new apartment. It is extra long and the way to get into our front room well, it just didn't fit.
We didn't have anything for about a week and then Dan's wonderful brother and his wife let us borrow their love seat for about a month while we shopped around for something.
And I will say right now how hard it is to find something for cheap, but something that will hold up and isn't completely ugly.
For the week that we didn't have a couch, it was somewhat uncomfortable to sit on the ground for long periods of time.
Luckily we have a recliner, but that only holds 1 adult and maybe 2 or 3 or 4 kids.
Well we finally found a futon that was within our budget and the reviews were good, so we went ahead and purchased it.
We also figured that a futon would be good in case anyone was crazy enough to spend the night at our house.

It is red.
I have wanted a red couch for awhile.
We are happy with the purchase and now I don't have to worry about the kids destroying their uncle and aunts couch.
I only have to worry about them destroying everything in my house.
And anyone else's house that we enter for that matter.

Morning D-R-A-M-A!!!

Sometime around 4 this morning Jo Jo decided to wake up and tried to get into bed with us. I told her no and to go get back into her bed. She started to cry and told me "my bed isn't comfy." I replied that it is comfy and she tells me "I'll wake up the other girls." I told her that she won't because if she does she will get in big trouble and that she can come sleep with me when Dad goes to work. She didn't leave and go to bed and so Dan got all upset and told her to get into her room. She fell to the ground and started bawling. I got up and carried her to her room and when I walked in she started to cry harder, so I set her down in the hallway and she stopped crying. I told her to do what she wants, but she can't sleep with me. I got back into bed and then the bathroom light goes on and then off, so I got up and she is trying to shut the bathroom door. I opened it and she started crying even harder and told me that she wants to sleep in the hallway. I grabbed her and sat on the couch. We talked for a little bit (while she was still crying) and then she asks me for a drink and I said "No, not when you are acting this way."
"I'm not acting!"
We talked a little bit longer and then she laid down on the couch and I covered her and went to bed.
Of course I couldn't sleep after that and I just laid there and thought about everything. Then around 5:30ish Dan got up and ready for work. He went and got Jo Jo to bring her into bed with me, but she started bawling again. She wanted to now sleep on the couch and not with me, so Dan told her that he has to get ready and she should sleep with me. She didn't want to so he put her back on the couch and she told him to turn all the lights off. He told her that he needed them on to get ready and he would turn them off when he left. She was fine with that and eventually went back to sleep.
This little girl is driving me crazy lately. She is starting to get a temper and a couple of times she has thrown something at me when she gets into trouble. Luckily she doesn't have much of an arm (or aim) and so they miss me terribly, but I am running out of ways to get her to listen to me and patience.

Visitors, Shark Reef, and Air Show

My parents came down this past weekend. The girls were so excited to have them here. They got here Friday and so we went to the Shark Reef which my mom has wanted to do for awhile. The girls were bummed that they didn't get to see any turtles (they were getting fed), but we all had a good time. The rest of the day we just hung out.






Saturday was the Air Show up at Nellis. Most of the day was spent in lines, we had to wait for two hours before we actually got to Nellis, but it was cool to see all the planes. The girls enjoyed them if they weren't so loud. It was not a warm day and I'm glad that we brought our sweaters.

It was a fun couple of days with my parents and I'm glad that they came.

Hello?

Dan has a radio for work and was listening to it last night. I heard Jo Jo talking, but she was in the room by herself, so I looked to see who she was talking to. She was having a conversation with the radio. When they would talk, she would talk right back answering question that they were asking or just talking about whatever. She didn't like when there were breaks and no one would talk. It was pretty hilarious!

Nice Weather

This week has been so much better than last week!! Everything about it is better. I guess that doesn't mean much, it could still be crappy and be better than last week. Anyways, we have taken advantage of the nice weather and gone to the park and played outside with the chalk. The girls love it and it gives me some time to just watch them play and relax.
The crazies are getting so big and I love watching them play with each other. They play (for the most part) well together. Here are some pics of our day today.

Our Weekend Fun!

We were able to go to Delta for our annual pumpkin party. We usually do it on the Saturday before Halloween, but since it fell on a Saturday this year, we decided to do it on Halloween. The girls picked out their own costumes this year and were so excited to wear them. They told everyone they saw what they were going to be a couple of weeks before Halloween. They actually have what they want to be next year already picked out. Crazy girls!!
I was totally unprepared for this holiday. I don't know what it was, but I just wasn't as into it as I normally am. I forgot many things like my costume, Ty's tights, some pumpkins, etc... Luckily Jenna was able to find some pumpkins for us and so we were still able to participate in the contest. Dan and I were nice enough to let someone else win this year. :)

Their Uncle Ryan was nice enough to take them out door to door after the trunk or treat. The only problem they ran across was when they were walking up to one door a dog ran up to them and started barking. They all started to scream and ran back to the car. If you know my girls you know that they are terrified of any kind of animals, so this wasn't a good thing.

Sunday

After our lovely visitors left us Sunday morning, we spent the day lounging around. Dan had to study for his tests, SB was on a coloring high, and Jo Jo just wanted to suck her thumb and be with her daddy, which as you can tell in the photo, ended up in a nap. It was a good, quiet, lazy day.

Visitors

This last weekend, Jenna, Dustin, and Miss Z were able to come down and visit us. It was a good, but short weekend. I'm thankful that they were able to make the trip and I'm glad that we are close enough that we can visit each other over a weekend if we want.

We went out to the Hoover Dam on Saturday.




Ty is still in love with Dustin and was always following him around.



I asked Miss Z if she would like to stay with us for the week, but she didn't want to. She didn't want her mommy and daddy to leave without her. The biggest adjustment I've made is not having her around. Most of my days I find myself somewhat bored and I've realized it is because she is not around to keep the girls wound up and to be loud. She really is a lot of work and I'm excited to see what she turns out to be/do later in life. The girls had fun with her, they laughed a lot, ran around a lot, and told a lot of stories!


Thanks for coming guys. We love you and miss you. Hope that you are getting your house all put together. Can't wait to see it (decorated)!

Jo Jo and her new friend?

Jo Jo was doing really good not sucking her thumb during the day, until she got sick. Now she is sucking it ALL the time. She knows that she shouldn't be doing it either, because she will quickly pull it out whenever she sees me. Sometimes she will get into her bed (or mine) during any part of the day and pull the covers over her, like it is ok if she is in her bed.
Well anyways, tonight we were at my brother-in-laws house and I took Jo Jo to the bathroom before we left and while she was sitting there she says, "My thumb is crying."
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"My thumb is crying and wants her mom to put her in her mouth."
"Your thumb is crying?"
"Yes! And she wants her mom to suck on it."
I started laughing and left the bathroom.
Now I don't know if she has made her thumb a real (imaginary) being or if she was just being funny. And if she did make her thumb real should I be worried? And if it was real, why would she want to be sucked on all the time? She gets all shriveled up and wrinkly when wet. And I love how she refers to her mouth as her thumbs mom.

Oh Jo Jo you make me laugh so much. I don't know where you came up with it, but sure, whatever makes you happy.
